Some of the best fencing contractors in the country are set to descend on NSA Sheep 2010 in August to compete in the UK’s greatest test of fencing skill, the Tornado Wire National Fencing Competition.

The biennial event, held at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern, Worcestershire, challenges two-man teams to erect approximately 60-70 metres of Tornado high tensile stock netting in just three hours, using only hand-held tools.

With the winner’s trophy and £1,000 cash prize at stake – not to mention the prestige of taking the title of Tornado Wire competition champion – the 13 registered teams will face a tough battle to impress the judges. The panel is of particularly high calibre, with 2008’s competition winner Mike Ford and Tornado Wire’s MD Kenny Campbell judging the quality of strict underground and fence line criteria, with additional points for speed.

Kenny comments: “The Tornado Wire National Fencing Competition offers professional fencing contractors the opportunity to showcase their skills to the rest of the industry and set the standard for the highest quality fence erection. It’s one of the toughest challenges out there and we’re looking forward to seei

ng competitors raise the bar this year and show us what they can do.”

The competition takes place at 10.30am on 3 August 2010 at the NSA Sheep 2010 in front of the Tornado Wire stand no 178, which is situated near the main entrance. Second and third prizes of £350 and £150 respectively will also be awarded on the day.
